Southwest Florida has the perfect climate
for fleas & ticks to thrive

Flea & Tick Control

The first line of defense against these dangerous pests is prevention.

OUR PEST CONTROL PROFESSIONALS WILL PERFORM A THOROUGH INSIDE TREATMENT OF THE HOME, AS WELL AS TREATMENT OF THE OUTSIDE AND LAWN, TO CONTROL FLEAS AND TICK INFESTATIONS.

Fleas and ticks are common pests in Southwest Florida and can thrive year-round in our sub-tropic climate. Because they can reproduce in as little of 2 weeks, the presence of any size flea or tick can be an indication of a serious infestation.  Because these pests are difficult to see with the human eye, they often enter your home undetected and quickly spread. Effective flea and tick control requires two steps: treating your pets and treating the environment.

Keep your family and furry best friends safe from fleas and ticks. Personalized Pest Control will create a custom treatment plan to ensure that fleas in your home or business are eliminated.

Preparing for a flea or tick service
  • Pick up any toys, clothes, shoes, etc. off the floor.
  • Pick up ALL animal bedding and toys. Wash and dry these items, leaving them in the dryer until completion of the treatment.
  • Any bedding that is touching the floor should be pulled up and placed on top of the bed.
  • Vacuum/mop all floor surfaces. Discard the water. Throw away the vacuum bag outside the dwelling.
  • Remove animals from treatment area for at least 2 hours after treatment.
  • All occupants should vacate the treatment area as well for at least 2 hours after treatment.
  • Do NOT vacuum/mop for at least 72 hours after the treatment.
  • The animal(s) must also receive a flea treatment PRIOR to re-entering the home. We recommend a flea/tick bath used in conjunction with a flea prevention product as prescribed by your vet.
  • A follow-up treatment will be scheduled within 7-10 of the initial treatment to aid in breaking the life cycle of the fleas/ticks as well as treat any new egg hatchings.
The Importance of Preparation
Garrett9-min

Following the above guidelines will ensure that our technician is able to thoroughly treat the infested areas of the home. Personal items and/or clutter that remains on the floor or up against baseboards provide harborage for fleas while we are treating. To effectively control a flea/tick infestation, the chemical must be able to penetrate ALL areas of the dwelling.

In order to guarantee our work, both the pet and the environment must be treated. The absence of one of these treatments will not be effective in eliminating a flea or tick infestation.
